Measuring Basics
1. Measure "Tight"
When measuring for deductions, measure the actual opening size. If you are ordering new windows, remember to leave space for shims (approx 10-15mm).
2. Gross vs Net
Gross Area: The total wall surface without any holes.
Net Area: The actual surface area you need to cover (Gross minus Windows/Doors).
3. Reveal Depth
Don't forget the depth of the window reveal (forint) if you are calculating paint or plaster for the returns.

Standard Sizes
Common metric door sizes are 90x210cm (Module 9x21) and 100x210cm (Module 10x21). Windows vary greatly, but 100x120cm is a common starting point.
